If you are an avid blackjack player, you may recognize that “one deck Vegas rules” sounds like an oxymoron.  It’s true, you would be hard pressed to find a blackjack game in Las Vegas that uses one deck these days.  However, in case you can find a casino in downtown Las Vegas that still plays blackjack with one deck, you’ll be the most prepared player at the table with this blackjack strategy card.

Downtown Las Vegas Blackjack Rules

This blackjack strategy card is for games using the downtown Las Vegas rules with one deck.  The standard downtown Las Vegas rules are as follows:

• H17- The dealer hits when he has a soft 17 and stands on a hard 17 and above.

• DAS- You are allowed to double down after you split your cards.

• No Surrender- You cannot surrender.  To surrender is to give up on the hand once you have your cards, getting half of your bet back.

• Peek- If the dealer is showing an ace, he peeks at his cards to see if he has blackjack before continuing on with the hand.
